VFX Research - Pirates of the Caribbean


Here we have a series of different Visual effects created for Pirates of the Carribean.

As shown in the example image and video, a lot of shots were filmed on set surrounded by a blue/green-screen, with only a few props on display. In the final outcome, the same footage has been toned up for a more brighter, but also horrifying scene,  while the ship is filmed with a of Computer-generated animation while shots are filmed of the ship going to pieces. Additional features, such as the additional actors flying through the tornado, are also separate shots and animation which are place in the film as another layer moving from a different angle.
